On January 6, 1994, was awarded the concession to operate the Cellular Mobile Telephony Services in the Republic of Honduras, the Motorola Company Inc., Millicom International Cellular SA (MIC) and Proempres, SA, represented by the company Telefonica Celular, SA (Celtel).
The agreement was signed by both parties dated August 7, 1995. The grant awarded to Telefonica Celular, SA (Celtel), the right to operate mobile services in Honduran territory, using the Frequency Band "A", from June 1996.
