is a contest in which the original composers and unfamiliar looking to compete for a chance to record their songs at Abbey Road.
Hymns winners will be recorded in Studio One, together with composer Eric Whitrace that will lead the London Symphony Orchestra.
"We want to discover the great hymns of our time," Whitacre said in a statement. "It's an honor to be involved in the selection process and record the winners. I encourage all writers and composers to present their music, inspirational" added.
The deadline to submit their creations will be on July 15.
